Tasha Messer
At-Large Director
Mrs. Tasha L. J. Messer finds joy in inspiring the next generation of Eco-Activists. Whether delighting in sowing seeds to cultivate edible and pollinator plants, or expanding perspectives through binocular gazes during an exploratory and meditative learning activity she coined “Bird Walks and Whispers”…creating student-led moments where curiosity abounds has become her signature. Present and past accolades to her credit include: Georgia Beloved Naturalist (GBN), EcoRise Teacher Ambassador, Georgia Master Gardener Association (GMGA) District Director-NW3, Birds Georgia Master Birder, Georgia School Master Gardener, Edible Schoolyard Academy Alumnae, and Captain Planet Project Learning Garden Liaison.
A self proclaimed foodie, she and her family love simulating their own test kitchen environment by preparing interesting new celebrity chef recipes. What she is most looking forward to in 2024 is experiencing even more exciting things, that take her out of her comfort zone, during a year-long celebration of her milestone birthday. She considers being asked to join the Southeastern Trust for Parks & Land board as one of the first gifts honoring this very special time in her life.
